The firm’s Ginny Sherlock visited with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in her U.S. Supreme Court office during an October 2019 reunion of plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit filed against The Associated Press in 1978 to increase diversity in the news agency.
Attorney Janice Goodman represented Ginny and her AP colleagues in the lawsuit, which produced goals and timetables for hiring more women and minority reporters, photographers, and managers pursuant to a settlement in 1983.
Justice Ginsburg called The AP plaintiffs “trailblazers” in the equal rights movement for professional women.
